If the ballasts are bad on your highbay fixture and you want to replace the bulbs with T8 LED tubes, you must remove or bypass the ballast so the power input wires are connected directly to the sockets. Then you can install your LED tubes. Keep in mind, if you choose this route to install LED, you must replace all the tubes at the same time. Using LEDs and fluorescent bulbs in the same circuit may cause issues.
