You can’t always replace a fluorescent tube directly with an LED tube. Some LED tubes are “plug-and-play” and designed to work with existing fluorescent ballasts, while others require removing or bypassing the ballast entirely (known as ballast-bypass or direct-wire LEDs). Always read the manufacturer’s installation instructions and confirm your fixture’s voltage and ballast compatibility before making the switch. This ensures safe operation, proper performance, and long-term energy savings.
