In a standard 9-foot drop ceiling, 2x4 LED flat panels are typically installed in every other grid opening or every opening depending on brightness requirements. For general office lighting targeting approximately 35 to 40 footcandles, panels spaced 8 to 12 feet apart often provide uniform coverage. For higher brightness applications, spacing may be reduced to achieve 45 to 50 footcandles. Because these fixtures distribute light evenly across the lens surface, they reduce shadowing and provide consistent illumination across the workspace.
