Type III distribution projects light farther outward in front of and to the sides of the fixture, making it useful along walkways, roadways, parking areas, and property perimeters. Type V distribution produces a more symmetrical pattern around the pole and is a good choice for open areas, plazas, parks, campuses, and centrally located poles. Choosing the distribution based on pole placement can provide more effective coverage with fewer dark areas.
