LED post tops can be a practical replacement for older metal halide and other HID outdoor fixtures, offering efficient LED operation while eliminating traditional HID lamp replacement. When planning a retrofit, don't select the replacement based only on the old fixture's wattage. Compare lumen output, distribution pattern, pole height, spacing, mounting size, and voltage to choose an appropriate LED replacement.
