There is no single spacing that works for every installation. Spacing depends on pole height, lumen output, Type III or Type V distribution, surrounding obstructions, and the required foot-candle levels. For commercial projects where uniformity is important, a photometric layout is the best way to determine fixture quantity and spacing.
